What is image metadata?
Image files can contain information about how a picture was created or stored. Depending on the file and camera, metadata can include camera settings, timestamps, software information and sometimes location data.
Why clean metadata?
Metadata can be useful for your own organization, but you may not want every piece of embedded information to travel with an image you publish or share. A clean export can reduce the amount of original metadata carried by the new file.
What Pixmora can and cannot remove
The current tool creates a fresh browser-canvas export rather than editing metadata fields one by one. This can remove metadata that is not recreated by the browser encoder, but it should not be treated as a forensic guarantee that every possible metadata field has been removed.
Does cleaning change the visible image?
The purpose is to preserve the visible image while creating a new encoded copy. The output format and browser encoder can still affect file size and some image characteristics.
Keep the original
Metadata cleaning creates a new copy. Keep your original if you may need its embedded information later.
