Does Pixmora upload my images?
The current compressor is designed to process selected images locally in your browser. It does not need to upload the image to a Pixmora compression server.
Which image formats are supported?
The compressor accepts JPG, PNG and WebP files. You can choose an output format where supported by the interface.
Can I compress an image to an exact size such as 20 KB or 100 KB?
Yes. Target-size mode tries to produce a file close to the requested size. If quality adjustment alone is insufficient, Pixmora can reduce dimensions to approach a practical target.
Why can two images with the same dimensions have different file sizes?
File size depends on image content, compression settings, format and encoding. A detailed photograph and a simple graphic can behave very differently even at identical dimensions.
Why might PNG be converted to another format for a target size?
PNG encoding is lossless, so a quality slider cannot reduce a PNG in the same way it can reduce JPEG or WebP. For a target-size request, Pixmora may use WebP to provide meaningful size control.
Does compression always make an image smaller?
No. Some images are already highly optimized. Pixmora avoids replacing an original-format file with a larger result when the workflow is set to keep the original format.
Can I process multiple images?
Yes. You can select or drag multiple supported images into the compressor, subject to the browser-friendly batch limits shown by the tool.
Will compression change image dimensions?
Normal quality compression keeps the original dimensions unless you choose a maximum width. Target-size mode may reduce dimensions when necessary to approach a very small target.
Why does the result vary between browsers?
Image encoding is performed by browser APIs, so encoder implementations and available memory can vary between browsers and devices.
Is Pixmora free?
The core Pixmora image compressor is intended to be free to use without an account.
